Surprise! When Nolebucgrl said that she’s bringing Cocky back 😉 and posting to coincide with the start of the season, the FicSisters went wild, donned our jerseys and grabbed our pom poms!
We’re thrilled to start the cheerleading…and once again welcome the delightful Amy, aka Nolebucgrl, who’s so kindly shared just what we have to look forward to…
When I wrapped Sideline Collision awhile back, I felt that there was more that I could do with Cockyback and Reed Girl beyond the initial story. I promised then that I’d pick them back up again when I had time and finally I do!
A few months have passed since the epilogue when Edward was drafted by the New York Giants with the overall number one pick. Now he’s working his butt off in training camp while his Reed Girl is back in Tallahassee finishing up her degree in marketing. It’s their first real separation of any length since they met and life as a rookie in the NFL isn’t as cushy as Edward is used to. His coaches and teammates aren’t kissing his ass like he’s grown to expect over the years. He’s still the Golden Boy, but one that has to prove himself on the next level.
This story is going to explore the ups and downs of life. When you’ve been a winner since birth, how do you handle losing? How do you deal with separation from the one girl that you’ve ever wanted to settle down with? Does absence make the heart grow fonder? What do you do when life throws you unexpected curveballs (sorry for the mixed sports metaphor, but it fits).
Edward’s never been the most open to change, so it’ll be interesting to see how he handles new challenges and people. That’s not to say that your old favourites won’t be back! Reed Girl, Rainbow, Jaspy, Shorty, Blondie and Emmett will definitely appear, as will Charlie the fangirl and Esme and Carlisle. Just because Edward’s in New Jersey doesn’t mean that his friends and family are going to leave him alone. He may wish that now and then, but deep down inside he loves those insane people.
If you liked Sideline Collision, hopefully you’ll like Getting Blitzed. Just because he’s older, doesn’t mean Cockyback’s all that wiser. He’s grown some, but he’s still the same guy that people grew to love in the first one. Like the first, there’ll be a lot of humor, some sexy times, some classic Edward freak-outs and Rainbow. Of course, there will be Rainbow. Hope you come along for the ride!
Summary: The continuing adventures of Cockyback and Reed Girl. College is over and real life awaits. How will they handle the ups and downs thrown their way as Edward enters the NFL and Bella approaches graduation? Rated R for Rainbow. Romance/Humor, Edward/Bella, M, WIP
Teaser from Chapter 2
“As our new starting quarterback, Edward, I’d like you to be the last one we auction off. I’m sure there’d be a lot of ladies that would be willing to give money to charity to spend an evening with you.” And yeah, her leg brushed against mine again. Fuck this noise.
I started to push back my chair, when the sweetest voice I’d ever heard spoke up. “I’m afraid that he’s not a bachelor and his fiancée wouldn’t be too keen on the idea of women bidding on him. But we’ll be sure to make a generous donation to the charity of choice.”
In case there are actually one to two people who haven’t yet had the pleasure of reading ‘Sideline Collision’, here you go…
Summary: A cocky QB runs into a snarky band geek. What happens when they collide on and off the field? Rated M. Romance/Humor Edward,Bella Complete
